In 2018, the Province of Antwerp’s provincial services were largely centralised in the architecturally striking new Provinciehuis. Sumi integrated lighting, sun protection system and HVAC in a single management platform. By coordinating all these systems, major energy savings can be made – for example, the lighting is automatically dimmed depending on the available natural light – while not losing sight of user convenience. Indeed, the user interface contains different access levels for the various users. By using an intuitive control monitor, each user can easily carry out the different operations and follow the statuses of the different systems. This convenient user interface also allows different light levels to be set for each individual room.
