Ostend station is by far the most important train station on our Belgian coast, serving more than 250,000 passengers per month during the summer period. Early 2017 saw the start of reconstruction works of the entire station environment, including the station building itself. The lighting in the office buildings is automatically dimmed depending on the natural light already present. As the natural light increases, the lighting is dimmed and, therefore, the energy consumption cut. From now on, even the outdoor lighting will be controlled completely intelligently.
