Transforming a monument with more than 450 years on its clock into a contemporary house of government with a sustainability certificate that many buildings can only dream of: that is what the renovation of Antwerp’s city hall is all about. This means that the city hall will have all the mod cons without compromising its heritage value in any way. Sumi is happy to do its bit by, among other things, using discrete but intelligent components. A link to an intelligent building management system will also be provided. The idea is to bring a combination of different types of lighting together. Not only works of art, but also offices and public areas will be interconnected. Moreover, the sun protection systems will be controlled on a façade-by-façade basis according to the position of the sun. Something that is bound to result in considerable energy savings.
